Halloween and the Free Pea Flip-flop

As we know from the words of Jesus Christ, Son of God, on that last day of mankind on earth we will not be judged on whether we worshipped him or not, worshipped anyone else or not, we can rest assured we will not be judged for enjoying ourselves on Halloween.

is 60 years since I dunked for apples, or tailed the donkey.  I have no idea what games children of today play for Halloween other than trick or treat.

Today i want to talk about what I call, Free Pea Flip-Flop.  It involves as I see it, moving, shifting and hiding but its not a game.

May 2014 is when the Flip-Flop was triggered.  Up until that month, the Free Presbyterian Church of Ulster held the view that Halloween was a satanic feast, and since that date these views have apparently been swept under the carpet.

Halloween, Hell in the rear view mirror is a 2007 sermon preached then by the man who is now Lord Bannside's successor at the Martyrs Memorial , Now Professor Rev Doctor Ian Brown

Professor Rev Doctor Ian Brown and many other Free Presbyterians came out publicly in support of a bakery that was willing to promote that same Satanic Feast of Halloween by baking Halloween cakes with witches on those, but would not support marriage equality cake

Ashers had advertised on a flier that it would ice on cakes, including a witch for Halloween

for them to come out now in 2021 and claim Halloween still to be Satanic would be tantamount to saying that back in 2014 the bakery was not really Christian, but were only supported because of the 'GAY' issue

Why I protest against hypocrisy

Why I protest against hypocrisy that is Free Presbyterianism

Personally I think it is a shame that Professor, the Rev, Doctor Ian Brown of the Martyrs Memorial lacks the courage to take his own advice he offered to gay people on 1Sunday 14Th June 2015. {ref 200th anniversary of battle of Waterloo}.

I also think it a shame that the rest of Free Presbyterianism doesn’t take that advice either.

That is defined hypocrisy is it not, to give advice, one is not prepared to act on oneself. “Do as I say, not as I do. “

the kettle calling the teapot black

He, Professor Brown clearly not happy, uses the word hypocrisy a lot in his sermon called the 2Great betrayal of decency and democracy. When he was not too pleased at new laws being introduced by what he calls wicked politicians {also on sermon audio },

seems to me like Free Presbyterians have in their minds modified John 3:17 KJV, to read,

* For God didn't send His Son in the world, to condemn the world, “We do that for him” *

My first real insight into Free Presbyterianism came in 3 1986 , even though I had attended services before that date but on that date I experienced what I presume Rev Leckey might call, “Christian morality” on the steps of Stormont. In my belief only a Devil would have cast aside the sacrifice RUC made during the troubles in a fit of selfish pettiness {because we would not mutiny in favour of him}. Only a devil could have said those things and in my view it was a devil who said them. Their then moderator who was that speaker went home to the safety and security of a home protected 24/7. I know his home was so protected for I supervised those who did so.

I am getting nervous about Cookstown as I go to perform my solo parade related protest at Mid Ulster Pride . Though I know that nervousness is a good thing,

I was nervous few years ago when I stood alone outside ashers bakehouse in Royal Avenue with a placard offering a single £100 reward for a bible verse showing the the management of ashers was being obedient to Jesus-God by refusing a cake, I don’t believe they were and no one claimed it .

I was nervous getting up on to the stage in the auditorium at Palace Barracks in Holywood to give 2 fifty minute back to back lectures on social interaction to over 100 .

even though for the guts of three years all I did was lecture in class to police recruits in Enniskillen or probationers in Connswater, I always was nervous before going into class. But it didn’t stop me.

I, like Patsy McGlone would like Rev Marcus Leckey to call off his in my view unchristian protest. Though I doubt he will. I note from his reported response to Mr McGlone he sees it as a rights issue, not unlike Ashers, they too seen it as a rights issue . Its certainly not scriptural

I’m glad The Rev Leckey is in favour of free speech, so he wont object to me exercising mine. As I make it abundantly clear to the marchers and supporters that they don’t need to change, they can come as they are to my Presbyterian denomination’s churches, for services, for communion, and also for fellowship. Just as Jesus-God would have it. I am not there representing my church, I am a non-subscribing Presbyterian, I am constantly inviting people to join us.

today i issued a press release

PRESS RELEASE : PRESS RELEASE : PRESS RELEASE : PRESS RELEASE : PRESS RELEASE

Seems Jesus-God isn't as interested in our sex lives,

as Free Presbyterians are.

Also seems like Free Presbyterians have (in their minds) modified John 3:17 KJV, to read,

* For God didn't send His Son in the world, to condemn the world, “We’ll do that for him” *

1. The Private individual protest at mid-ulster pride asks the ‘Christian Morality’ protest, if Jesus-God didn't come to condemn ?? what gives you the right to do so.

A group of sinners - protesting about another group of sinners - about sin,

is crazy when you think about it

It is also Pharisee-like and non-Christian. Its Emulating the Pharisees. The only instance of it in the new testament was the Pharisees protesting to Jesus-God in a cornfield as to why HIS followers do what is not lawful to do on the sabbath. Mark 2:24

2. The Private individual protest at mid-ulster pride will me highlighting the 25th Chapter of Matthews gospel, [KJV] :-

there are no questions in the final judgement at the end of time about our consensual sexual exploits while alive, neither hetero nor homo. Seems Jesus-God isn't as interested in our sex lives as Free Presbyterians are.

3. The Private individual protest at mid-ulster pride:

is not there representing the non-subscribing Presbyterian Church he belongs to,

but will make it clear to anyone who wants to know

that the non-subscribing church will welcome all the parade participants,

at regular services and communion services, without judgement or need to change

4. The Private individual protest at mid-ulster pride: is glad the minister at Cookstown FPC is in favour of free speech, so he shouldn't be offended by this individual exercising his.

no sabbath for unemployed or retired

According to the Free Presbyterian publication " separated unto the gospel, page 28 " the term 7th day means

By the term 7th day, the Lord speaks of the day following 6 days of labour, what ever those 6 days of labour might be.

So a market trader for example whose busiest days are the weekend takes one day off per week on Tuesday.  That Tuesday is a day following 6 days of labour.  If he is Christian that Tuesday is his sabbath. And he spends all day praying and telling God how great God is. Totally keeping within the description in the Free Presbyterian Publication "Separated unto the Gospel, page 28.

So in my opinion protests about activities on Sunday the chosen day of Free Presbyterians is nothing to do with their beliefs or piety, it's sheer arrogance that everyone else should follow them.

And the unemployed, retired, incapacitated who don't toil at labour at any day of the week don't qualify for a sabbath in the 1st place and can watch football any day of the week without annoying the sensitivities of anyone who believes what the free Presbyterians believe enough to put it in print

who do you go to for inspiration

A brethren friend says that if I get to the judgement in Matthew 25 then I missed the rapture.

Still waiting for his response on where Jesus-God taught about the rapture.

A few years ago when I was doing one of my lone protests one in particular was outside ashers bakehouse in Royal avenue offering a single £100 reward for a bible verse from KJV that shows the actions of ashers management was being obedient to christ.

My placard had 2 verses on it from Matthews gospel.

During my 2 hour protest the staff of ashers offered me tea or coffee very nice but I refused

but a gent in an immaculate tailered suit came out of ashers and before he walked down the street came to me and told me I was promoting filth. He also told me to forget Matthew but read Romans instead.

I wonder did he realize what he was saying, forget the teachings of Jesus-God but read a sinful pharisee called Paul instead.

And the more I think if it, how many others in N. Ireland do just that rely on the views of a sinful men and not the teachings of a sinless God.

Can Atheists get into heaven ?

Great news for Bill Maher, Richard Dawkins, Et Al

Absolutely yes they can

Can Muslims get into Christian heaven

 Absolutely yes they can

How can I say this with certainty!

Because the criteria for acceptance into heaven is ;-

how we treated our fellow man,

especially those who are in need of one sort or another.

There is no criteria on which "deity" if any, we worshipped when alive,

none on our sobriety, drug use, or consensual sexual activity .

We know this is true for it has been told to us by Jesus-God in Matthew 25 KJV

Knowing what I know about Presbyterians and Free Presbyterians in Northern Ireland and their dealings with their gay neighbours I can say, based on what I have read in Matthew KJV,

that things aren't looking good for them,

I believe humanitarian Atheists have a better chance of heaven.  humanitarian Muslims and Agnostics likewise have a better chance.

Being "saved" and "born-again", doesn't come up in the criteria, a lota people being fed disinformation

on drunkeness

ver•i•ly vĕr′ə-lē I say unto you that your drunkeness will not be raised by Jesus-God in His judgement on the last day.

GOD isn't interested, its only a sin to the Fundie and Evangelical wannabe Christian.

No mention in Matthew 25 where Jesus tells us how he will devide all of us into sheep or goats

The sheep into eternal life the goats into eternal separation

Pseodo god Paul, of the evangelicals clearly seen to be spreading his Pharisitical bullshit in 1 Corinthians 9 and 10, he was not there when Jesus spoke in Matthew 25.

Had Pseodo god Paul been present at the sermon on the Mount his fictitious conversion story would not have been about persecution, that was covered in that sermon and the disciples told persecution makes us stronger makes no sense at all that Jesus-God would complain about it.

In each account of this fictitious conversion Paul tells it differently. I can assure you as a retired police officer had a suspect told me 3 different stories of the same event I wouldn't believe a word he said.

3 cheers for the Taliban

Hip hip horay.

We should not worry about the Taliban what havoc they reign down upon their own people will be them getting Bush, Obama and Trump off their minds

Give evangelical Christians {who put faith over reason} an army and that would be the Taliban also

Biggest mistake the non Taliban Afghans made during the American and ally occupation, was not converting to Christianity. Had they done so, the purge about to be unleashed could be fought by Christendom.

They are own their own now, them and Allah

music to my ears

Here you go, sit back close your eyes and appreciate Sean O'Riadagh

I will never forget the first time I heard this. It was Easter Tuesday night 1966, Croke Park,

mum and dad collected me from boarding school in Baldoyle on Easter Monday and took me to fairy House for the Irish grand national on the Monday

and the whole school went to the padgent in Croke Park to mark the 50th anniversary of the 1916 rising.

At the end of the event everything went dark,

Regarding the "Olde Testament"

squashed together the pages of one of my bibles measures 315mm

the Old Testament alone accounts for 270mm of that width

the remainder is the New testament plus concordance and a few maps

85% of this bible, the old Testament was not written for Christians.

 Was not written for me.

I pay little or no attention to it.

Jesus-God said in Matthew 5:17 "Think not that I am come to destroy the law. or the prophets.  I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil."

Why should I waste my time with it?, It was fully fulfilled by the finished work of my lord and saviour Jesus the Christ.  Why complicate my life, better to keep-it-simple-stupid.

My Salvation has nothing to do with the words written in the old testament.

How would King Solomon writing poetry about his wife's boobies have any reference to me, or my relationship with my God? What nonsense to suggest that it would.

When Jesus my saviour was hanging on that cross, one of the two being crucified along side him, was empathetic and requested to be remembered by Jesus when he entered His kingdom. "Lord remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom" (Luke 23:42)

Jesus's response was not "Do you know your the scriptures" ?

was not "have you read the Talmud ?,

was not Have you read the Torah ?

not at all. Clearly for what was about to be said, knowledge of scriptures was not required.

What Jesus said to him was "Verily I say unto thee, today shalt thou be with me in paradise"

What you read in this epistle are the opinions of Gerard (Jerry) the woodturner and painter.

I do not always agree with the opinions of other epistle writers, found mainly in what is known as the New Testament.

but I do agree with Paul-the-Pharisee [Acts 23:6],

{aka Paul-the-Sinner [1 Tim 1:15] }

{aka Paul the self styled apostle [Rom 1:1]}, regarding the work of Christ as completed & finished;

to return to the old law of the Talmud or Torah, The Old Testament As the Free Presbyterians and other legalist sects do, in their preaching of the 10 old Pre-Christ finished work, Commandments; was to, as much say 'Jesus Died in vain'. (see Galatians Chapter 2)

To the Christians there are Jesus-God given 2 commandments not 10.

And if we obey only 1, "Love your neighbour"  we have obeyed both.

if we love our neighbour! we don't steal from him, therefore we don't need a commandment saying "thou shalt not steal" . Early cave dwelling pre Christian-era man might have needed to be told not to steal from others, but modern educated Christians don't need that.

some so-called Christians say that its ok to beat children, because it says so in the bible.

It does.

Proverbs 13:24 "He that spareth his rod, hateth his son. but he that loveth him, chasteneth him betimes.

Thing is though, neither Jesus, Jesus's father, nor Jesus's sister the Holy-Spirit said these words, yet so-called christians will blaspheme and call them the "word of God"

These opinions are the words of a sinful man, they are not the words of a sinless God, the man who wrote these words is dead and is dust by now, but our God Liveth.

the power of language #1

#1 because I suspect now that I have my thought process into a new gear, there may be more

#1 "Tell me he's not gay"
"Tell me she's not a Lesbian"

What??

“Tell me he's not gay"

Who?.. you might be thinking or asking

Anybody

Think about it. Think about the power of that simple request to tell me "he's not gay"

historic rhetoric

Are there many cities/towns/villiages/hamlets across the British Isles that are not "historic" by their existence.

And if not, is the use of the term "historic" to describe one, anything other than *trite*

Tropics style heavy rain yesterday

In the space of 20 minutes to half an hour yesterday evening while I was in big Tesco store in Newtownards, it rained like I experienced in the tropics.

I just placed by phone on a display counter between the electric kettles priced between £5.50 and £50, and recorded the rain on the roof overhead.

i wondered, as I listened and waited, what the £50 kettle did, that the £5.50 one didn't.  could not see anything that warranted the £44.50 difference

there was a difference in quality of finish , but not worth £44 in my opinion.

when I left the store even though my car was on an incline , there was a slight hollow and i was ankle deep in water putting my purchases in the car.

Global warming the say .. sound of the rain

those about us need us to do good work more than God does

suspended my facebook

today I suspended my facebook page

earier i was asked by one of my neighbours to be a facebook "friend".  I turned her down because being outspoken and opinionated non-subscribing presbyterian desciple of Christ i did not know her well enough to know whether or not she might be offended by some of my posting opinions. I suggested we just continue to be neighbours instead.

she said she was disappointed

but it started me thinking about the broad church audience face book has and perhaps some of my woodturning friends might not share my liberal and humanist humanitarian opinions, they might inadvertently be offended by what they read

had been thinking for a long time anyway of quitting facebook so darn-gone-it, just suspended the account.  I did not terminate the account for then I would loose contact with so many friends on facebook messenger

spending too long on it anyway

concentrate on blogging and vlogging instead
