music to my ears

Here you go, sit back close your eyes and appreciate Sean O'Riadagh

I will never forget the first time I heard this. It was Easter Tuesday night 1966, Croke Park,

mum and dad collected me from boarding school in Baldoyle on Easter Monday and took me to fairy House for the Irish grand national on the Monday

and the whole school went to the padgent in Croke Park to mark the 50th anniversary of the 1916 rising.

At the end of the event everything went dark,
I MEAN PITCH BLACK DARK
SIKENCE
a drumm roll then a huge wartime-like searchlight beamed down on a lone piper who played this tune - Mise Eire.. https://youtu.be/xCvSzNMOMcY

My 2nd all-time favourite Irish tune has to be this my lovely rose of Claire.. https://youtu.be/4Oth_7X4E_A

My third and last not to bore you all, the dubliners Rare auld times the incomparable Ronnie Drew.. https://youtu.be/9T7OaDDR7i8
